Who We Are
A Distinct Identity
Here at Great Dreamers Haven Foundation (GDHF), we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all especially women and girls. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits
The Foundation was established in response to extreme poverty, cultural, social, economic barriers to the potentials of the girl-child and women in Africa. Based on a 2018 report by UNESCO, 1-in-5 children/youth is out of school in Africa. According to the United Nations, about 10.5 million children in Nigeria are out of school and 5.5 million of them are girls.
The uneducated girl child in most African countries has limited access to basic information capable of transforming her life through sustainable activities. She is highly vulnerable and prone to gender-based violence, early marriage, teen pregnancy and lacks the ability to make informed decisions regarding issues that affect her life and well-being.
Similarly, many women are willing and ready to engage in economic activities but lack the resources to achieve that. This impediment invariably affects the choices, quality of care and support they provide their family.
At the foundation we believe everyone has a dream; “no dreamer is insignificant, and no dream is too big or impossible to accomplish.” Our responsibility is to nurture and bring dreams alive through active and sustained collaboration with our beneficiaries and stakeholders.
Our mantle is nurturing dreams, fulfilling destinies...
